Throughout the world, internet freedom is increasingly being restricted: from repressive regulations to blocking social media or even shutting down the internet completely. In Russia, for example, freedom on the internet has dramatically worsened in recent years. But how does internet censorship actually work, and what role do platform companies play in this?
